Tuesday Travel Diary - Cozia Monastery

Hello everyone!!! For a couple of days it's been raining non-stop. I don't get along very well with this weather. I really miss the old days when it was sunny and I had more time to shoot pictures. Unfortunately, lately I haven't been able to do so, and this thing is making me sad. Neither the weather nor the time helps me to do what I love most (which is to shoot pictures and post them of course). This is a rough period for me but it's gonna be over, just be patient with me, I'll be back on track soon.

Until then I'm leaving you with a new travel diary post. It's from a short trip we went on, during the end of the summer, beginning of the autumn. I went for a comfy outfit and I wore a black maxi dress (also seen in this post), paired with a denim shirt, flats and a hat since my hair wasn't on it's best day. Also I wasn't wearing any makeup since this trip was unplanned, and they called me like 10 minutes before we left (okay it may have been a bit more than 10 minutes, but hey it was Sunday and I was in the middle of an episode from a tv series that I was watching - can't remember which though... I'm watching over 20 of them :D crazy I know :d). Anyway, I got to visit a beautiful Monastery, well known in Romania. It's called Cozia Monastery and it has such beautiful scenery surrounding it, that you may actually think you are dreaming. I really love the Monastery's architecture you can google it to see how beautiful it is. I wish I could have gone there with one of my photographer friends and a beautiful gown to shoot pictures ... but ... maybe next summer we'll do it. You can see from the pictures what a marvellous place it is and how it gives you a chilling vibe, I could sit on there near a tree and read a book all day long. The post ends with the picture of a delicious icecream. I've actually posted it on instagram that day. You can see there also the piucture where I'm facing the river. So go check it out here: @sinziananegres

I'll leave you now with the pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I didn't forget, I have to respond to a tag, maybe Thursday, we'll see if the time allows me to do so. So that's about it for today. I hope you guys like this post. Please let me know what you think about it in the comment section below. I'm looking forward to hear your opinions and suggestions. I wish you all a wonderful week. See you next time. kisses

Tuesday Travel Diary - Climbing tips - Romanian Mountains, Iezer-Papusa

Hello everyone!!! It's a bit late, actually it's over midnight but, I finally finished sorting through photos, and as I promised you in the previous post, here I am with a new Tuesday Travel Diary. These photos were taken a month ago or not even a month has passed. Anyway it was a family trip, and we were gone for the whole weekend camping on the mountain so I had no cell service (and that's when I stopped posting on instagram so often and until now I haven't managed to get back on track but I'm working on that too ). As I told you, we were camping, so we slept in tents, and that means no electricity either, so I had to manage with just one full battery for almost 3 days (but I did it). It's been hard because I wanted to take pictures everywhere on our way to the top of the mountain but I had to restrain myself.

We started our journey to the top, from the bottom of the mountain, having to climb through a neverending forest (seriously in looked like it wouldn't end :D ). After that we had in front of us a sea of yellow as you can see in the first picture (my phone didn't capture that awesome colour and I had to edit the pictures, but it isn't the right colour.. it was like a golden field). It seemed no big deal to get up there but, as we walked the distance seemed even longer, but that was because we were walking straight ahead in a burning sun and with few water provisions. Anyway, as we arrived on that peak you see in the picture it started raining. A cold rain followed by a strong cold wind and we waited for it to pass but it rained cats and dogs for a half an hour and we were soaked in water. Even when we thought it couldn't be worse it started to hail on us. We patiently waited for it to be over but we couldn't continue our journey for the highest peak of the mountain so we had to turn around and go to our tents. It was a looong way 'till there and our clothes were wet and the wind was blowing like crazy. Fortunately some of our clothes in our backpacks had managed to stay dry and we quickly changed them and went down on the mountain.

It was an interesting experience. Wasn't my first time climbing a mountain but it was the first time I was caught by rain and had to endure it without a roof over my head. It got me unprepared but it taught me a lesson: "Always be prepared for anything!", so next time I'll be properly prepared. So at the end of this experience I can sum up some useful tips from when you will go camping and climbing, based on my experience:
- Pack warm clothes because there's a big temperature difference
- Be sure that you have waterproof clothing with you when climbing. the weather is unpredictable
- Wear climbing boots, it's important for your foot to have as much stability as you can provide
- It's important to stay hydrated so take as much water as you can carry with you
- Pack some snack, you're gonna get hungry
- Take chocolates with you for energy
- Use a climbing stick, It's gonna take some of the weight off of your shoulders
- Everything in your climbing backpack has to be packed in plastic bags

I hope you guys like this post. Please let me know what you think about it in the comment section below. I'm looking forward to hear your opinions and suggestions. I wish you all a wonderful week. See you next time. kisses

Tuesday Travel Diary - Transfagarasan

As I told you in my previous post, I'm gonna start a new category on the blog - Travel Diary. I won't be posting every Tuesday since I can't travel all the time (although I would love to ). For our first travel diary I chose to tell you about a trip we did a couple of weeks ago. Me and a couple of friends went to the mountain and there the weather was harsh with us, it was really foggy and it rained, not to mention the 12 Celsius degrees we had to endure, but it was an awesome trip. I have never been to Transfagarasan before. I think you've heard of it ... some call it "the best road in the world". "It has a spectacular view and 90 km of twists and turns that run from north to south across the tallest sections of the Southern Carpathians, between the highest peaks in the country, Moldoveanu, and the second highest, Negoiu. The road connects the historic regions of Transylvania and Wallachia, and the cities of Sibiu and Pitesti. " . If you want more info about it click here.

The view on the way to Balea Lac which is a glacial lake is amazing. You don't know where to look first, left or right, not to mention that the view from up there is speechless. I'm really glad that it was foggy outside because it had such a mystery vibe. You can sleep there, they have cottages with everything you need, but because it's such a beautiful place you have to plan your trip ahead and book  in advance a room or two. I definitely recommend you to visit it and spend at least one night there. You won't regret it, trust me. These pictures were taken with our phones and don't do justice to that amazing place. Unfortunately we couldn't stay there and had to go back so I couldn't explore it properly, but the next time I'll get there, I will definitely spend a night or two, and explore all its surroundings (dressed with warmer clothes because I was freezing until one of my friends gave me a blouse. And a reminder for me - don't wear sandals :d ).

I hope you guys like this post. For more updates follow me on instagram @sinziananegres. Please let me know what you think about it in the comment section below. I'm looking forward to hear your opinions and suggestions. I wish you all a wonderful week. See you next time. kisses
